Sandstone

This quaint little town was established in 1889. Built on the banks of Kettle River, Sandstone has a rich history in river life. When visiting Banning Junction and Robinson Park, look close and you will be able to see where sandstone was taken from the quarries.

Sandstone is surrounded by approximately 10,000 acres of State Park, Wild Life Refuge, State Land and Natural Audubon Society Land. Sandstone offers numerous year round outdoor activities! The Audubon Center offers "Dinner on the lake", family retreats, summer youth camps, and an historic lodge for vacation rental. Downtown offers a country jamboree at the old theater, featuring former big-name stars, a flower shop with the best home made fudge around and many other small town attractions!
